Taxi driver killed and dumped in a river

Police in Imenti North District County have recovered the body of a 26 year-old taxi driver near Kathita River within Meru Town.
Confirming the incident, area OCPD Tom Odero says the body of the man was found in Mwiteria on Tuesday as police went searching for a missing person.
He said that the deceased had stab wounds on his right upper chest and serious head injuries. A Samsung mobile phone and KES 1 260 cash was also recovered from the scene.
Police suspect that the victim was killed in a white probox vehicle that was recovered along the Meru - Githongo road near the Meru National Cereals and Produce Board at Gitimbine.
The man, who operates within Meru Town, comes from Seme in Kisumu County and his names will be released once the relatives have been conducted.
The body of the deceased was moved to Meru Level Five Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem to establish the motive behind the killing.
Meanwhile, two bodies of middle aged men were found dumped near the same river on Sunday. According to the police, the two were murdered elsewhere and dumped at the site.
