A group of young looters at Majengo in Mombasa town have embarked on robbing pedestrians off their property, according to the Mombasa county commissioner Nelson Marwa.
The commissioner said that the youths who are mostly below 20 years of age want easy cash by looting from pedestrians especially in the evening hours when most are heading home from work.
Marwa has urged parents to take care of their children so as to avoid complaints after police takes action against them.
He added that the police have been issued with the alert but are awaiting the reaction of the parents - if they will take action and tame their children.
The commissioner said that the youths were too young to be taken to court but promised to have it all done if the situation does not change.
The commissioner was addressing the media in his office in Mombasa.
