TNA not interested in alliances

14 November 2012, 18:23James Kabotia

The National Alliance party is not in any alliance or coalition arrangements with GNU or any other party, TNA’s Secretary General Onyango Oloo has said.

“The small parties in the Mt Kenya region should know that they cannot support us while dividing our stronghold votes. Our doors are still open, you better join us and work together for the best interests of Kenyans or we will treat you as our rivals for the votes around here”, explained Oloo.

This unfolds as GNU party leader Hon Mwangi Kiunjuri is being on the spotlight at the local media stratifying that his party will occupy the grassroots seats countrywide and that he will steadfastly support DPM Uhuru Kenyatta for presidency on a TNA ticket.

Oloo was addressing the press during a TNA forum at Nanyuki Municipal social hall on Tuesday where he pointed out that the party’s country-wide nominations have been rescheduled to take place on January 7 next year.

He said that such forums are going on throughout the 47 counties, adding that they are aimed towards constituting their grassroots interim offices for proper preparation of the forthcoming General elections and collecting plights from the citizens.

He met various representatives from the three constituencies in Laikipia County to articulate issues that are mundane to them and need to be addressed by TNA if it manage to form the fourth government.

“During the launching of our party, we had promised Kenyans that we are not going to descend a manifesto from above downwards to the people. We want to collect the needs and wants of Kenyans from various backgrounds, put them together so that we can form a people’s manifesto”, said the Secretary General.

He further said that when TNA succeeds to form the government come March 5 next year, it will be able to implement programmes and projects emanating from the people and not merely coming from the leadership.

He further added that the forums are also geared towards introducing its programme known as my DNA is TNA which includes all the youths in the Kenya with an agenda of popularizing the party and enhance sharing of ideas.

"We want proper representation of the people of Kenya from Lake Victoria to the Indian ocean so as to wipe away impunity and poverty in our nation", said Oloo.

He was accompanied by TNA national deputy chairlady Lydia Mokaya.

Their next forum will be at Ol Kalau in Nyandarua county.
