TNA pulls out of Homa Bay Senatorial race

Nairobi - The National Alliance TNA will not field a candidate for the Homa Bay Senatorial by election.
The ruling party has been mulling whether to field a candidate for the by election, which has been occasioned by the passing of former Senator Gerald Otieno Kajwang.
However, Secretary General George Onyango Oloo says that the party will not field a candidate, saying they have not found a suitable candidate for the election.
" We have simply not found a person who is suitable for the election and thus we have pulled out," he said.
" As the ruling party, we will not have a candidate who will just run for the sake of it, so we will just stay away," he added.
Being that Homa Bay is chiefly an Orange Democratic Movement ODM region and stronghold, the chances of a TNA win would have been highly unlikely in the first place.
The admission means that whoever goes through the ODM nomination process will likely have a free pass to the Senatorial.
