TNA officials in Laikipia County claim that they were harassed by the party’s security team during the Nakuru rally where DPM Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto announced their coalition agreement.
The officials on said that during the Afraha Stadium rally, no provision had been made to recognize county party officials yet they are the strongholds of the party campaigns at the grassroots levels.
Led by the deputy county chairman Christopher Maitho during an executive meeting in Nanyuki town, the officials demanded respect from the party’s secretariat.
“We are never recognized during rallies yet we are the party officials spearheading campaigns at the county level. We are not happy with the way we are being treated by our party's security team,” said Maitho.
The officials however praised the TNA-URP-UDF coalition deal and urged the leaders to keep the doors open for other like-minded parties to join.
