TNA losers defect to Mzalendo Sabasaba

22 January 2013, 17:56Wangui Joseph

Mzalendo Sabasa party Murang’a branch on Monday benefited well from TNA defectors who lost in the last week's party primaries.

According to party chairman George Gathugu, majority of them were County Representative aspirants across Murang’a County who claimed that the results were manipulated in favour of some aspirants and therefore lost trust with TNA.

The aspirants claimed that results were rigged in the primaries since they were neither fair nor transparent as TNA had assured earlier.

Among the defectors was also the parliamentary seat aspirants led by youthful Lawrence Memia of kigumo constituency.

Memia lost to Metropolitan Minister Jamleck Kamau who garnered 24 363 while Memia got 3 919 votes.

Former Maragua MP Elias Mbau also lost to new comer Peter Kamande after getting 7 450 against 16 084.
