TNA candidates in Nyeri have vowed to do aggressive and stiff campaigns to neutralise other parties in the county.
Speaking at a Nyeri hotel on Sunday, the aspirants were particularly mentioning Othaya as one of their strongholds.
This came after last week’s drama where their fellow aspirant Mary Wambui was denied access to President Kibaki’s events which saw the endorsement of a rival aspirant Gichuki Mugambi on a Sabasaba Asili ticket.
The candidates led by Special Programmes Minister Esther Murugi said despite Kibaki’s endorsement, the voters have the final say.
Murugi is defending her Nyeri town seat though her bid is between a rock and a hard place since renowned GNU party has fielded a candidate Maina Mathenge to face her.
In the closed door meeting that was attended by former Mathira Mp Ephraim Maina, former Kituo cha Sheria Executive Director Priscilla Nyokabi, Kenya Vision 2030 director and gubernatorial aspirant Wahome Gakuru and all parliamentary seats aspirants across the county on TNA ticket, the candidates also resolved to do teamed campaigns together.
