Nairobi - Suspended Cabinet Secretaries are still earning their full salaries, labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi has said.
The revelation came Tuesday as he answered questions on the parliamentary committee on investment over alleged corrupt deals at the National Social Security Fund.
He stated that despite stepping aside from office, he was still earning like normal.
" I am still earning just like normal. A suspension does not mean I have been sacked. I am still getting my full salary and benefits," he stated.
Kambi is among several CS's who have stepped aside from office to allow investigations by the EACC over corruption in the NSSF which he vouched for.
" I am clean. I did nothing wrong and the evidence is there to support my stand, he stated.
Other CS's who are not in office include Energy CS Davis Chirchir, Agriculture's Felix Koskei and his lands counterpart Charity Ngilu.
They were forced to step aside after president Uhuru Kenyatta asked them to do so after they were named in an anti corruption report.
