Two nabbed with leopard skin, tusks

Police have nabbed two suspected poachers who were caught with a leopard skin and three pieces of elephant tusks weighing four kilograms.
The two, identified as Itiemu Ruso aged 38 and Ismael Choya aged 37, are held at Ngare Ng’iro police station in Laikipia East Sub County.
According to outgoing Laikipia East Police Commander Joshua Lutukai, the two suspects were arrested by Police officers from Ngare Ng’iro police station and Kenya Wildlife Service intelligence team.
“Through a tip off from the members of public, Police officers led by their OCS Makana Chipande and KWS rangers managed to trace the suspects and recovered the game trophies,” said Lutukai.
Lutukai said the game trophies had been hidden in a bucket and a box of clothes placed at the roof of one of the suspects' house.
The suspects were arrested at Sangalai lodge which is inside Elkalama ranch within Segera location where one of them was an employee; the other had been sacked from the lodge.
Ismael Choya was being accommodated by his accomplice Itiemu Ruso.
They are expected to be arraigned in court.
