A middle aged man was on Sunday morning found dead at Kiamunyi estate along the Nakuru-Ravine road with his body at decomposing state.
According to the London ward Representative Njoroge Njogu, the man's hands were handicuffed from behind raising suspicion that he could have escaped from the authorities.
But things took a dramatic turn for the worse after one police officer from Kiamunyi police post came, removed the cuffs and left the dead body behind.
The midmorning incident almost got out of hand after local residents threatened to storm the local police post shortly after the officer left the scene.
“It looks like this body has been here for a while because it decomposing but what is more shocking is that a police officer who uncuffed the man did not remove the body,” He said.
The county assembly leader also faulted local police officer in the area over laxity, a thing he said it had contributed towards the high level of insecurity.
He added that security should be beefed up in the area to curb the rising cases of insecurity in London and Kiamunyi estates.
The body of the man was later taken to Nakuru Provincial General Hospital morgue.
