Surrendered terror suspects linked to Mombasa CID boss shooting

Mombasa - Mombasa court has ordered the detention of two terror suspects who surrendered to the police in Mombasa in connection to the shooting of Mombasa CID boss.
Magistrate Victoria Kachuodho directed that Abdulkarim Saraj Mzee and Swaleh Ramadhan Mwakiluchwa be remanded at the central police station for five days to enable police to conclude their investigations.
In a sworn affidavit, the investigating officer Charles Mwai told the court that the two suspects are under investigation over the shooting of the Mombasa CID Boss Victor Thangalani in Tudor on August 24, 2014 where he sustained serious injuries in the lower abdomen.
The officers stated that a court had also issued warrants of arrest against the two suspects over the shooting.
The court has already charged two other suspects over the attempted murder of the CID boss; Abadallah swaleh was charged and released on a bond of KES 500 000 with two sureties.
On Wednesday, a suspected terrorist who surrendered to the police in Mombasa, Khayumi Katibi Khamisi was also charged with an attempt to murder Thangalani.
Mzee is also facing robbery with violence charges at the Mombasa law court where he and others not charged in court are alleged to have attempted to rob a tourist along Malindi road in Mombasa.
The two are among seven men listed as dangerous criminals who have been killing and robbing people in Mombasa.
The case will be mentioned on November 24, 2014.
