Nairobi - Peter Munya has been re-instated Meru Governor by the Supreme Court.
The ruling made Friday, saw the highest court in the land rule that the Appeal Court, which had dethroned Munya misapplied the law in making its ruling.
Munya, who had earlier won an application stopping his seat from being declared vacant won the day following a succesful appeal by lawyers Okong’o Omogeni and Prof Tom Ojienda.
The ruling means that Munya returns to office and adds to the list of election petitions that have been overturned once taken to the Supreme Court.
