Nairobi - One of P-Unit’s founders and member, Frasha is organizing for an autism awareness campaign, in association with the Autism Society of Kenya.
The campaign is scheduled to take place on the 14th of April 2014 and will involve a walk all the way from Machakos town to Nairobi followed by a concert after, in Nairobi.
Autism is a neurological disorder that develops within the first three years after a child’s birth. It is characterized by varying degrees of social interaction difficulty, attention, speech and cognition, motor coordination and physical health issues.
People with disabilities have been neglected by society till thus far, and are only dependent on their families to survive.
Most of this negligence can be averted through such campaigns that seek to enlighten the public on the importance of recognition and interaction with the autistic in society.
The campaign organizers seek volunteers in their masses to help with the organization of the event.
Anyone who might be interested in volunteering for this great cause should make their way to the City Primary School this Friday at 2pm to enroll and find out more about the campaign.
