Sue Ocampo for defamation, urges Kabando

11 February 2014, 17:03 Joseph Njung’eh

Nyeri - Mukurwe-ini Member of Parliament, Kabando wa Kabando has called for the immediate revelation for names of those who colluded with former International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor, Moreno Ocampo to charge some Kenyans before the court.

Kabando, who termed those who allegedly fixed the Kenyans in the court as neo-colonialists, said it was high time that culprits got exposed since Ocampo has openly confessed that the cases were driven by ulterior motives but not justice.

The MP observed that the cases which were tailored by some people have caused the country a lot of damage and thus Kenyans need to know the truth.

He doubted the credibility of the international court, suggesting that Kenya should immediately withdraw from the Rome Statute.

Kabando claimed that at one time, he received a letter from former US ambassador to Kenya, Michael Renneberger informing him that he was one of the suspects of the post election violence.

He wondered how his name was omitted among those who were charged before the court.

The MP called upon President Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto and others who were charged before the criminal court to sue Ocampo for defamation.
