The body of a Form four student at Ambira High school who went missing from the school last week was retrieved from River Nzoia in Ugenya district on Sunday evening.
According to the school Principal Barnabas Wanga, Emmanuel Nyang’or, 20, sneaked out of school last week never to be seen again.
The principal revealed that after realizing that the student was missing, the school administration mounted a search to establish his whereabouts but they could not trace him.
However, after such a frantic search, members of the public spotted his body floating in River Nzoia around Siranga Village.
Confirming the incident, Ugenya OCPD Hussein Hassan said the student’s school identification card and wallet was found intact in one of his pockets and that is what made his identification easy.
The police boss revealed that investigations have commenced to establish the real cause of the student’s death.
