Stray buffalo kills herder in Nyeri

Nyeri - A rogue buffalo on Sunday killed a 60-year-old man at Kihuyo village in Nyeri County.
The marauding buffalo was said to have strayed from Aberdare National park.
Stephen Mwangi, father of two, was grazing his cattle near the forest in the
morning hours when the animal attacked him.
"It pierced the deceased with its horns until he died, leaving blood all over at the scene," said an eyewitness.
They said it was not clear how the animal escaped from the park since there is an electrical fence.
animal later disappeared into the forest after the incident but Kenya
Wildlife Service (KWS) rangers tracked it down and shot it dead.
In the recent past, human-wildlife conflicts have been in the rise within Nyeri region.
