Stop favouring Waiguru, Raila tells Uhuru

Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga has said that MPs from both his coalition and the Jubilee side who shouted down a grilling ceremony for Devolution CS Anne Waiguru were out of line.
Raila has also asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop favouring Waiguru as he did not do to other CS's.
Speaking Wednesday in Nairobi, Raila said that the move by Uhuru not to call for Waiguru to step aside from office to allow investigations into her docket take place was a move that bordered on favouritism.
" It is favouritism and that is the only way it can be called," Raila said.
" You have to wonder why she has not been called out on the corruption allegations. She needs to step aside and allow investigations," he added.
He also said that he had not hard feelings with Waiguru and that the issue was not personal.
Further, he criticized CORD and Jubilee MPs for shouting down the session in which Waiguru was being grilled over issues at the National Youth Service NYS Tuesday.
" It was wrong. They should have let her defend herself in the right manner and not shout her down. It was unacceptable," he added.
Waiguru is under investigation for the apparent misappropriation of KES 826 million at the NYS, which she has stated she has nothing to do with.
