State House official to be quizzed by EACC over Keter saga
27 January 2015, 16:40
Nairobi - A State House official will appear before the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission EACC over his part in the corruption saga facing Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter.
State House Comptroller Lawrence Lenayapa has been ordered by the anti corruption body to appear before it Thursday at 9 AM to state his position in the saga.
Keter was seen in video telling police at a weigh bridge that he had express orders from Lenayapa to release an impounded truck at the Gilgil station.
He was trying to have the truck, owned by Nominated MP Sonia Birdi released illegally.
Keter has since denied that he was trying to corrupt the officers.
In a statement by the EACC Tuesday, Lenayapa was ordered to appear in-order to shed light on the matter as investigations on the allegations continue.
" We ask that Mr Lenayapa kindly avail himself before the Commission, Thursday 29 January 2015 at 9 AM, the statement read in part.
Keter has already been before the Commission Tuesday, where he again insisted on his innocence.
