South Sudanese found dead inside school bathroom

Nakuru - Police in Rongai sub-county, Nakuru County have launched investigations into the death of a 23-year old male student of South Sudan origin who was found dead inside a bathroom at Kirobon secondary school.

The deceased, said to have come from Kakuma refugee camp, was found death inside the bathroom with blood oozing from his mouth and nose.

“We received a call from the school Principal informing us that body of one of his male students had been found inside the bathroom. Our officers rushed to the scene where investigations kicked off immediately,” said Joseph Mwamburi, Rongai OCPD.

Mwamburi said that the police are waiting for an autopsy to establish the real cause of the death adding that the deceased is suspected to have fell down inside the bathroom and suffered head injuries.

He further said that the that the school Principal, Barnaba Kipkemoi and Dormitory Captain who reported the incident, revealed that the student from Kakuma Refugee Camp in Turkana County had just reported a day earlier for third term studies.

The body of the deceased was taken to Nakuru Municipal Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
