Sonko will 'remove' changes to Nairobi roundabouts

Nairobi - Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko says he will mobilize residents to remove changes made to roundabouts in the city that have caused massive traffic jams.
Sonko has accused Governor Evans Kidero of pulling through with the idea to eliminate roundabouts in the city without proper planning.
He says that the changes have caused despair to city residents who are now suffering from the massive jams on the roads.
" The Governor must admit that mistakes have been made and get rid of the changes to the roundabouts," Sonko said Friday.
" We are suffering. The distance I used to take 30 minutes to operate on is now three hours. Something has to be done by the Governor".
" If not, they will wake up and find that we have made the changes ourselves," he threatened.
Sonko insisted that the only way to deal with traffic is through creation of overpasses.
The changes by the County government were meant to ease traffic in the city and ensure improved flow for commuters but has instead brought with it confusion.
Kidero though, says that with time, things will be better.
" It is just a matter of biding time. Things will be better. I am confident, he said of the complaints from city residents.
According to the county government, the city loses as much as KES 10 billion monthly in wastage accrued from traffic jams.
