Nairobi - Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko has revealed why he disbanded the 'Sonko Rescue Team'.
Sonko disbanded the team Tuesday during his father's funeral and stated that he had done so in honour of his father's belief that Kenyans and especially leaders need to work together for the betterment of the people.
He added that in his father's death, it would be great to remember him by working together with Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.
" It is time I worked with the existing County government and the Governor to lift the lives of the people," he told News24.
Sonko then went on donate the Sonko Rescue Team ambulances and other vehicles to the Nairobi City County.
Sonko had started the Rescue Team in order to close a gap he said existed.
His dad Gideon died last week at the Nairobi Hospital.
