Sonko in hot EACC water
26 May 2015, 14:30
Nairobi - The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC has ordered that Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko be punished for taking part in unquestionable activities.
The EACC stated Tuesday that it had sent Sonko's file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions DPP for action.
Sonko is accused of taking part in bad behaviour at the Mtwapa Weighbridge in Kilifi on 26 December 2014.
The EACC has also asked the Senate to punish Sonko for his bad behaviour under Chapter 6 of the constitution.
Sonko is said to have disrupted operations at the weighbridge.
If prosecuted by the DPP, Sonko will become the first Senator to face criminal charges by the EACC.
Recently, Narok Senator Stephen Ole Ntutu was released over similar bad behaviour.
