Nairobi - Nairobi County Senator, Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko, has embarked on sanitary towel donation campaign to provide school girls with the essential health facility.
Speaking after the presenting his donation to five primary and three secondary schools in Kangemi Constituency, Sonko said the the girl child should be supported in whichever way so they can have an equal opportunity as the male counterparts to brighten their future.
"This sanitary towel donation campaign aims at ensuring our discriminated girl child leads a healthy life for an equal chance to compete with males as our future leaders," said Sonko.
"I will continue moving around schools within Nairobi in company of my appointed task force to make sure that each and every needy girl child is supplied with the sanitary towels," he added.
Sonko's sanitary campaign kicked off concurrently and barely two days ago when the entire world marked the International Girl Child Day that highlighted the need for the girl child to access education and stay safe from oppression.
