Nairobi - The Director of Public Prosecutions DPP has relieved Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko and Cabinet Secretaries Felix Koskei and Davis Chirchir off their corruption charges.
The DPP announced Friday that after thorough investigation of the charges leveled against the two CS's and the evidence available, it had been decided that the two had nothing to answer for.
The two had been accused by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC of various offences.
Agriculture CS Koskei had been accused of irregular awards of permits to import sugar but the DPP said that there was no evidence to back those claims up.
On their part, Sonko and Energy CS Chirchir were released after allegations of allegedly receiving kick-backs involving a tender award to the Kenya Pipeline Company were found to be null and void by the DPP.
The release of the two comes after other CS's Lands' Charity Ngilu and Labour's Kazungu Kambi were also cleared by the DPP.
All the CS's had been ordered to resign from office in the wake of the allegations and with their release, will be expected to return to office in the coming weeks.
