Sonko Rescue Team transporting drugs, Kidero says

Nairobi - Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has accused Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko's Rescue Team of transporting drugs in the pretence of helping Kenyans.
Kidero, who has previously banned the rescue team from operating in Nairobi over lack of proper licensing, stated Monday that the Team's vehicles and Ambulances are transport hubs for drugs.
" I find it sad that ambulances are roaming the city with their sirens on, only to find that they are transporting drugs across the city," he said in Mathare.
" It is sad that leaders, instead of helping the youth are the same ones drowning them deeper into drug abuse and early deaths," he added.
Sonko could not be reached for comment by News24 over the matter as his phone went unanswered.
The Senator has previously stated that his initiative is more efficient than the Nairobi County system and that he has helped many Kenyans as a result.
The Sonko Rescue Team offers ambulance services, rescue machinery, digging equipment, vehicles for weddings as well as other services to Kenyans for free.
