Son kills father over loud music dispute

25 March 2013, 16:23 Philip Kithome

Residents in Huruma area in Naivasha district have been engulfed by a somber mood after a 50 year old man was allegedly murdered by his son.

According to the residents, the culprit who is a class 6 pupil aged 13 years old committed this act while the mother was on watch.

Following the turn of events, a group of irate residents went berserk protesting and calling for the immediate arrest of the mother whom they believed had worked hand in hand with the culprit to commit the heinous act.

According to a neighbor, Chege, the fight started immediately after the father demanded that the boy stops playing loud music that was emanating from his quarters ensuing a fight after the father smashed the gadget.

“The father who is a flower farm worker went ahead to compel his son to turn down the volume of music he was playing. In the process, the boy overpowered the father and killed him with just a single blow on the chest,” reported Chege.

The Naivasha deputy OCPD Korir arrived at the scene and consequently confirmed the murder by the minor adding that the law will be used against the minor at the court.

The minor is to be arraigned in court later in the day upon completion of preliminary investigations.
