Nakuru - London Ward Member of County Assembly Francis Njogu has said the entire ward will be installed with six high mast street lights to reduce insecurity cases.
Njogu said the new street lights which will be installed in the coming weeks will help fight cases of robbery which have been reported in the area.
“Our county government is planning to install high mast lights because our residents have been getting robbed at night,”he said.
The MCA said once the six street lights will be installed they will help extend working hours at night for the traders.
He further said the high mast lights will help the local residents since some parts of the ward are densely populated.
“The street lights will help traders be able to work for more hours at night and through this we shall be generating more revenue for the county,” he said on Monday afternoon during a press briefing in Nakuru town.
On the issue of finance bill, Njogu defended the bill saying the county residents did not to go through the new law saying it is not oppressive.
He said the bill only need some few amendments and that it only seek to increase the revenue collection for the county.
Njogu said the finance bill only harmonized all the licenses that the traders were earlier paying into one in a year.
“The new bill act has only reduced the number of licenses into one, so there is northing wrong with the finance bill,” he said.
