Signs you should end your relationship

02 October 2014, 15:27 Shakila Alivitsa

Nairobi - At times you just want to hold onto thing and not let go even if they have become a train wreck. Happens most of the time in relationships, but maybe holding on is not the best cause of action and maybe you need to let it go or become miserable in the long-term.

Constant arguing and bickering

We all know that for a relationship to work, communication needs to be there. But when the both of you cannot get a word out without shouting or yelling, even on the pettiest of issues then your relationship is down the drain. Most people say, you can go see a counselor, but that is a third party who comes in for one hour, then leaves you to your devices the rest of the time. And I do not think many couples in Kenya, who are not married but just in a relationship would want to pay someone all that money per hour. You may even try to get away from the arguing but some people can never just let it be, they would rather just get in a few shouting matches edgewise.

Lack of thoughtfulness/ special gestures

In the initial stages of dating, at the beginning of a relationship, you do nice things for each other and you just want to make the other person feel nice. When you have them reeled in, you slack off, then it just reaches a point that you do not care, or you care but they do not, even when you complain or try to talk to them about it, then it is high time you call it quits.

You just can’t stand them anymore

You do not want to see them, you do not want to talk to them, you do not want to have sex with them, and you just want to avoid them. Space is normally recommended in a relationship, IN A RELATIONSHIP, but when you do not want to see the person completely and they irritate you and you make excuses just to be away from them, then you had better stop wasting your time and just cut it off.

Abuse /Insults

When your partner feels frustrated, the best they can do is hurl insults and be abusive. It mean they have lost respect for you, does not matter how much they feel sorry afterwards or try to make amends especially if it is a habit they have developed then you need to close the door on that relationship.
