Nakuru - The Patron of Central Rift PSV Sacco, Njoroge Bumasu has said that there is shortage of digital speed governors supply in Nakuru County.
He said that the government needs to look into the matter saying that most of the matatu operators want to install the new speed governors but the gadgets are few in the market.
Bumasu said that the public risk continued suffering if the gadget is not cheaply available in the market.
He at the same time dismissed ongoing speculations that matatu owners have refused to adhere to the new traffic rules.
Speaking on Wednesday to the media in Nakuru town, Bumasu, who is also the chairman of Mololine services, said that the grace period that was given by the government was too short for PSV owners to comply with the new traffic regulations.
“Our members have not refused to follow the new traffic rules but the time given by the government was too short,” he said.
He also faulted the inspection officers at various checkpoints saying they were taking long to inspect vehicles that had complied with the new rules.
However, he urged the matatu owners to adhere to the new traffic rules as stipulated by the law.
