Shock as woman delivers a 6.3kg baby

Bungoma - A woman has given birth to a baby weighing 6.3 kgs at the Kapsokwony sub-County Hospital in Mt Elgon, Bungoma County, confounding both medical personnel and locals as she delivered naturally.
The 37-year-old woman from Masindet village, near Kapskwony town delivered the ‘giant’ boy child on Sunday night at the facility, according to Dr Wambasi Mutoro the hospital medicals superintendent.
According to Dr Mutoro the hospital, babies of his size are usually born via a caesarean section. He added that both the child and the mother are under the watch of doctors.
“It is a unique birth. The mother and child are still being observed at our facility as we discovered that the mother has diabetes,” said Dr Mutoro.
Normal children weigh between 3 and 4 kgs.
