Nyeri - Patients and health workers at the Nyeri County Referral Hospital were treated to a rare scene after an inmate from King’ong’o Prison was brought in to have three phones he had hidden in his anus removed.
How and why 36-year-old Samuel Muriithi decided to push the phones through his anal canal remains a mystery.
Unconfirmed reports said Muriithi was serving a life sentence and could be among the inmates who have been swindling people out of their money through unscrupulous means.

It however took more than five hours for Muriithi to remove the three phones since medics were forced to feed him first so he could push the gadgets out.
Muriithi was admitted at Ward Eight where health officials gave him some medicine to force him to diarrhea.

Patrick Arandu, officer in charge of King’ong’o Main prison confirmed on phone that the inmate had indeed inserted three phones in his rectum.
Arandu had promised to give an interview after all the phones had been removed but later declined.
