Nairobi - Beware of Al Shabaab attacks during the El Nino rains, Police have told Kenyans.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett has asked Kenyans to be vigilant to avoid falling victim to attacks by the Shabaab terror group during the ongoing rains.
He said Friday in Nairobi that there has been concrete information to state that the Shabaab are planning an attack to be executed during the rainy season from their Somalia base.
" We have information that the Shabaab is planning attacks during the El Nino rains and we ask Kenyans to be very vigilant," he said.
He stated that security agencies are on high alert over the matter and are looking for further leads to ensure that the intended attacks are blocked out as early as possible.
" We are on very high alert and are doing all that is possible to ensure that there are no such attacks in the country," he added.
The Shabaab's last major attack on the country was in April where the assault on the Garissa University College killed 148 people.
