Kampala - A British national born in Mombasa Kenya has been reportedly killed by a sex worker in the outskirts of Kampala.
Documents found on the deceased man indicate that he was born in Mombasa Kenya on November 14, 1976. They further showed that has some relatives in Kenya.
Police in Uganda are hunting for the sex worker who reportedly killed the Briton.
Police have identified the murdered man as Isha Hoyt, 38. They further revealed that for the past few years, Hoyt has always been visiting Uganda at the end of of the year for a holiday.
While in Uganda, he has always been renting a house where he stayed throughout his holiday. Before his murder, he had rented a house at Lubowa on the outskirt of Kampala from where he conducted his holiday activities including hosting sex workers at night.
Criminal investigations department officer at Katwe police station near the home where Hoyt died, John Bazibu said that preliminary investigations reveal that Hoyt got in contact with the sex worker at Speke hotel in Kampala city centre.
''After having a few drinks, they hired a motorcycle to take them to Hoyt's rental house. They spent the night together but in the morning the sex worker put poison in tea and gave it to Hoyt. He died a few moments after taking the poisoned tea,'' narrated Bazibu.
Bazibu said that Hoyt's body was found near the table where he took the tea from. Part of the poisoned tea was still in the cup and was taken to government laboratory.
Results from the laboratory indicated that there was poison in the tea.
''We highly suspect that the sex worker killed Hoyt so that she could steal his money. And she is likely to have succeeded in stealing the money because none was found in the house," Bazibu said.
He added that they have got some information from the house attendant that could lead to the arrest of the suspected sex worker and they have started hunting for her.
Hoyt's body has been taken to Mulago national referral hospital as they wait for his relatives to claim for it.
