Senator asks Mudavadi and Raila to unite

Vihiga - Vihiga County Senator, George Khaniri has called upon Amani coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi and Cord leader Raila Odinga to put aside their personal differences and come together to form a winning coalition ahead of the 2017 elections.
Speaking at a the burial of the mother of western region ODM coordinator, Engineer George Muyera, Khaniri said the two leaders, who are aspiring to be future president, should put their personal differences aside and work together to win the presidency.
Khaniri said the government has failed to fulfill its mandate due to high cost of living where basic commodities' prices have skyrocketed and called upon an immediate intervention since the common mwananchi is suffering.
He added that the mandate of the senators is to mobilise for resources from the National Government and that the resources should be used wisely to benefit Kenyans.
He said that governors must be accountable for the funds used in the counties and if any is found to have misappropriated the funds and forwarded to the senate by the County assembly, the senate will have no option but send them packing.
Khaniri later visited Ebusakami to meet two women groups where he donated KES 100 000 for both groups to support their ongoing projects.
The senator called upon the youth to be proactive and initiate development oriented projects, while pledging to support them.
