Senate chooses to impeach Wambora once again

Nairobi - The Senate has chosen to impeach Embu Governor Martin Wambora once again following a special sitting.
The decision was reached after a special vote convened Tuesday at senate buildings, with 35 senators choosing to vote for his impeachment after the committee set to investigate his conduct recommended his impeachment.
Wambora is accused of three charges which includes the violation of public procurement and disposal act, violation of public Finance Management Act and violation of constitution.
The result is a blow to the Embu governor who earlier lost a court petition looking to stop the senate from continuing to debate his situation.
Wambora had returned to office last month after the High Court ruled that he had been impeached despite having a pending case in court over his impeachment by Embu MCAs.
