Security beefed up ahead of polls

Tana River County Commissioner Joseph Rotich has appealed to Kenyans to maintain peace especially during the elections period.
Speaking to journalists in Hola on phone, the Commissioner urged politicians to conduct peaceful campaigns, avoid hate speech and instead preach peace to ensure peaceful elections come March 4th.
Rotich ensured Kenyans that security has been beefed up in all the Districts in preparation for the coming general elections.
Security personnel deployed in Tana Delta during the tribal clashes that left more than 150 people dead to prevent further bloodshed in the area will operate differently although there will be additional security during this election period.
There will helicopter surveillance, marines will be added in the Indian Ocean and regular police on land.
