Secondary school teacher defiles a minor

26 November 2012, 12:23 Joseph Mukubwa

A Secondary School teacher in Mathira district was arrested by police after he allegedly defiled a five year old minor.

The Mathematics teacher at Kiamabara Secondary School who is in his early 50s was arrested by police after the child and parents claimed that the teacher had been defiling her on her way home.

The minor is a baby class pupil at PCEA Kiamabara Primary School, which is adjacent with the secondary school.

Joseph Wanjohi Wachira, 44, and his wife Dorcas Muthoni, 25, claimed that the man who is a neigbour at Karebu village has been waylaying the girl on the way home from school and defiles her severally.

“We are demanding immediate justice to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in future in this area. People are very angry here due to the incident,” said Wachira.

Mathira OCPD Rashid Ali Mohammed said that although the teacher has been released on a police bond, the accused will appear in court on Monday to answer defilement charges.

The girl was treated at Kiamabara Model Heath Centre and Karatina District Hospital where the doctors established that the victim was indeed defiled.
