School set to benefit from Airtel’s food programme

Nairobi - Airtel staff paid a visit to Mogra Star Academy based in Mathare.
The team led by Africa Chief Marketing Officer Andre Beyers, Airtel Kenya MD Adil El Youssefi, interacted and shared special moments with the children through various activities including singing and dancing, and sharing a meal in a true reflection of the Airtel Spirit of living behind an indelible mark in children’s hearts.
The company donated 2 sets of soccer uniforms and 12 balls to the school’s boys’ and girls’ soccer team to enable them develop and nurture their talent in soccer as they meet and play regularly in tournaments.
Airtel also donated caps and t-shirts for each and every student.
At the event, Airtel also announced a food program for all students in the school. Starting immediately Airtel will be providing food for breakfast and lunch for every student at Mogra, 7 days a week for the next two years.
Speaking at the school, Beyers said Airtel Africa, cares deeply about the community and is passionate about education for each and every Young African.
“With our head office in Kenya, we are humbled by the warmth shown by the community of Mathare and Mogra Academy and feel privileged to be able to participate in their lives and feel this food program is a great way to encourage students to attend school and finish their education,” he said.
Youssefi also expressed his delight for the special occasion to interact with the children and the opportunity to leave a lasting impression on their life’s journey.

“We hope to see the institution develop in order to secure as many lives out there in the streets as possible, and transform them into tomorrow's leaders in the society. Airtel will continue to promote causes that have direct bearing on the lives of Kenyans,” said Youssefi.
Hannah Wairimu founder of Mogra Academy and Mogra Rescue centre, expressed her delight at Airtel’s support.
