Nairobi - A school bus was involved in an accident along Nairobi's Thika Road, with several school children injured in the incident.
The 29-seater bus belonging to Kahawa West Baptist Church Academy overturned on Kamiti road Thursday morning, after the driver lost control due to failed brake system.
According to the driver, the bus brakes failed when he was joining Kamiti road in the Kasarani area.
Several students were injured but none too seriously.
" The braking system was at fault for the accident as it failed to engage," Kasarani deputy traffic boss Lazarus Owiti said.
Students were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
" It was a horrific accident but gladly none of the students was injured," Jane Ngowa who witnessed the accident told News24.
The accident caused a temporary traffic snarl up along the busy road.
