Sauti Sol change tact... Sing about big assets

20 August 2015, 14:16 Eugene Odanga

Nairobi -Sauti Sol have been the talk of the town the past few months mostly because of the numerous successes in the local and global music scenes. Award nomination after award nomination came flowing in for their track Sura Yako which has had a vice like grip on the African content.

They followed that up with a collaborative track with Amos and Josh which has had a similar effect. Just when you think these guys cannot get any better, they release an even better track.

Kenya’s favorite boy band has just released what is without a doubt the hottest track of 2015. They have taken an old theme and tune and created what can only be described as the musical interpretation of the Monalisa.

“Shake Yo Bam Bam” according to the artists is “a bonafide party track, reminiscent of an earlier (90s) Kenyan music style, and fashion. The lyrics of the song flaunt Sauti Sol’s celebration of hood vibes and street-smart youth who set trends and shape the urban culture. The styling and dance choreography emphasize this.”
