Nairobi - Nominated MP and TNA party national chairman Johnson Sakaja defended nominated senator Joy Adhiambo Gwendo who was arrested by police for allegedly driving while drunk.
Sakaja condemned those who are criticizing Gwendo for the said offence saying he had confidence in her performance and urged her to dismiss the critics.
“We have this culture of always berating and bringing down leaders. Joy Gwendo is also a person with her private life. Let's respect that,” Sakanja said on his Twitter handle.
“Since you are without any flaw, I grant you the opportunity to throw the first stone,” he added.
"The best thing about making mistakes is that we can learn something from there. We are human," Gwendo said in a response.
“Remind Joy not to let other people's opinions and sentiments be her reality. Bad publicity is better,” one of Gwendo’s friends consoled her.
Senator Gwendo found herself on the receiving end after spending a night at Muthaiga police station on the night of March 29 for driving while drunk. For the latest on national news, politics, sport, entertainment and more follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page!
