Safaricom returns with Jazz Festival

Nairobi - The Safaricom International Jazz Festival is upon us once
more, bringing the best of the Jazz world to Kenya, a country that has over the
years grown to love and celebrate the genre of music.
Last year they brought to
the stage the likes of Jimmy Dludlu, Richard Bona, Eddy Grey, Kunle Ayo and
many others. This year also got off to an amazing start with the arrival of
Jonathan Butler to kick off the years Jazz activities. Jonathan set the stage
for what looks to be an amazing year in the Jazz world.
This time round, Safaricom have gone out of their way to
bring global icon Salif Keita to the Kenyan stage. Having been born and raised
in Mali, later on moving to Paris to fine tune his music, Salif has a unique
style of music, fusing different styles with his roots. His rich vocals and instrumental
prowess will leave even the most seasoned jazz fan in a near state of trance.
The event will be at the Bomas of Kenya on the 29th
of August, with tickets going for 1500 (Advance), 2000 (gate) and 500
