Safaricom Foundation donates KES 50M to Mathari Hospital

Nairobi - The Safaricom Foundation yesterday donated KES 50 million to Mathari Hospital renovation project as part of Kenya at 50 Legacy Projects.
The occasion was graced by First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta who hailed Safaricom Foundation for the support.
Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore reiterated the company’s support towards transforming lives in the community.
“We believe that by making this modest contribution in upgrading and renovating this facility, we will also be working at promoting the recovery of the patients here so that they can go back to their respective families and communities at the earliest time possible,” said Collymore.
Among the Kenya at 50 projects, include improvement of access to quality health care which the First Lady has been spearheading.
The First Lady later toured the wards that will be renovated together with Health Cabinet Secretary James Macharia, Sports and Culture Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario and Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore among other senior officials.
