Rutto to rejoin KANU ahead of 2017 elections

05 October 2015, 19:41

Nairobi - Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has indicated that he might join the independence party KANU this is after KANU chairman Gideon Moi convinced him to join the party.

Rutto said that he has weighed all options and seen that joining KANU will be the best political decision instead of forming a new party or retaining the united republic party {URP}

Speaking Monday at Kuresoi north constituency when he attended the burial of a former councillor, Rutto said that he is ready to join Gideon Moi in KANU a move he termed as being aimed at uniting the people of Rift Valley.

“The truth is that I will not be in URP in 2017 neither will I join JAP because they do not want me there and that is why I see it noble for me to join my brother Gideon in KANU as we forge our way forward ahead of 2017,” said Rutto.

Rutto added that he does not regret parting ways with the deputy president William Rutto saying that he does not have any apologies to make

“It is no secret that I'm not in terms with the deputy president because of divergent ideologies and that will not change any time soon unless something drastic happens from his side and I have no apologies to make to anyone for making my own independent decisions,” he said

He vowed to shame all his political critics and detractors in 2017 by bouncing back as the Bomet governor even without the DP’s support.
