Ruto's dictatroship worse than Moi's, claims former MP

Nairobi - Former Rongai Member of Parliament Luka Kigen has said that Deputy William Ruto’s dictatorship is worse than former president Daniel Moi’s during his rule.
Kigen said that Ruto’s culture of disputing people with divergent opinions is portraying him as a real dictator in the making.
Speaking Monday in Rongai town, Kigen said that it was wrong for Ruto to view people with divergent opinions as his enemies and called on him to be open to criticism like President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“People used to say that mzee (Moi) was a dictator but the deputy president is proving to be a more energetic and youthful dictator compared to Moi and that might cost him the presidency in 2022 because Kenyans cannot afford to be ruled by another dictator who is more energetic and youthful,” said Kigen.
He accused Ruto of using the divide and rule mechanism to hold grip of the politically rich Rift Valley region and called on him to listen to those who criticize him saying they might be of help to him.
“Not everybody who criticizes you is your enemy and the DP should know that because all those voices that are opposing him in Rift Valley are but meaning well for him because your brother who loves you cannot watch as you head for destruction,’’ he said.
