Ruto, just like Uhuru will defeat ICC
13 December 2014, 11:45
Nairobi - Deputy President William Ruto says he will defeat the ICC scourge and says that president Uhuru Kenyatta was innocent from the beginning.
Ruto, speaking during the Jamhuri Day celebrations at the Nyayo Stadium on Friday, said that he was equivocal in his innocence and that of his boss president Kenyatta.
" He was innocent from the beginning, we all knew that, he said.
He added that he was of the opinion that the president was simply fixed in his case and that he too would eventually be released from the court and its clutches.
" We know what happened and I am confident that my case too will have the same fate, he added.
President Kenyatta is essentially a free man after prosecutor Fatou Bensouda cleared him of charges of crimes against humanity last week, after failing to get any evidence to prosecute him.
Ruto's case on the other hand is still going strong, with analysts stating that it is at a 50-50 phase at the moment.
