Russel Peters show sold out

04 February 2015, 18:52 Eugene Odanga

Nairobi - 4 days to go to the best comedy show to ever come to the country brought in the form of the one and only Russell Peters.

The excitement is in the air with almost 6000 people set to be in attendance at this event which will be held at the Carnivore. When the event was first confirmed, the ticket prices which were KES 5000 (Arena), KES 10,000 (Gold), KES 15,000 (Platinum) and KES 20,000 (Diamond, with dinner) seemed a touch exaggerated.

20,000 according to some people was enough to pay rent for February, prompting the question of whether or not they were meant to go to the show and be homeless with their families for a month, or not show up and pay their rent. Such questions raised doubts as to how the turnout could end up being, but the air has been cleared.

Ticket sales for the Arena, Gold and Platinum options were done late last week, with sales of these being shut down on Ticket sasa. The remaining VVVIP tickets (Diamond) going for 20,000ksh were the only ones left, and they too, 4 days before the show, are sold out as well.

Kenyans have turned their pockets inside out to go watch the amazing Russell at work, despite the initial skepticism. If you were planning to save up till the last day for the tickets, then you are out of luck.

Welcome to Kenya Russel.
