Thorough inspection of primary and secondary schools has been identified as the surest way of improving the overall academic performance in Tharaka south district of Tharaka Nithi county.

Launching this year’s school inspection program at Marimanti, Area District Education officer, Mr. Abdi Gota said the district performance in last year’s national examination results left a lot to be desired given the potential lying in the sector.

Mr. Gota also challenged all education development in the district to embrace and cultivate a positive team work attitude to guard against the spirit of competition and create room for complimenting attitude.

The education boss said each every stakeholder had specific roles to play towards achieving a common goal of posting commendable academic performance at the end of each calendar year.

He also decried situations where a section of education stakeholders tend to point fingers of blame towards the professional education stakeholders whenever national examination results were not pleasing yet the process of realizing good results was a collective task.

Mr. Gota however assured all stakeholders that officers in the district and field education officers were committed to performing their respective duties with a lot of devotion and sacrifice all geared towards uplifting the district education standards.

The ongoing inspection program was drawn to cover almost all primary schools in the several education zones in the district to guide teachers and pupils on the best possible approach towards improving on administrative and academic performance early enough.
