Rising cases of accidents in Kinungi worrying

Nakuru - Residents of Kinungi are worried by the rising incidences of road accidents involving pedestrians in the area.
According to them, accidents at the center which is located along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway claims at least one person every fortnight.
They blamed the accidents on over speeding, citing an incident two days ago where a speeding matatu knocked down a motorcycle operator killing him on the spot.
One of the leaders, James Kabono, said the increasing number of pedestrian deaths was worrying.
“We have shed enough tears over the high number of deaths and the only solution to this problem is blocking the road so that the government can act,” he said.
The leader said that they had visited various government offices seeking assistance for years but no help was forthcoming.
“We first raised the issue with former Presidents Moi and Kibaki and years down the line we are still suffering,” he said.
