Nakuru - Nakuru residents have been warned about a gang of robbers roaming the town’s Estates terrorising residents in the guise of police officers.
Speaking Tuesday morning at his office, Nakuru police boss Bernard Kioko said the gang members clad in administration police uniforms and are trailing businesspeople where they introduce themselves as police officers to get access to people's homes.
Kioko said the gang is mainly targeting residents in high end residential areas of Nakuru.
"A gang that is clad in full police gear is harassing residents in the town and they are mainly targeting businessmen and residents of high end Estates like Milimani," said Kioko.

He added that the gang approached one homestead in Milimani Estate on Sunday where they impersonated police officers and were allowed into the home only to turn out to be gangsters.
“They were clad in administration police uniform and armed with a fake gun. The family informed police who successfully intercepted a saloon car believed to have been used by the thugs in the incident,” Kioko said.
The police boss said that police are hunting for the gang and called on Nakuru residents to be wary and report any suspicious looking police officers.
